Sliderparty

Just two weeks after the last event my friend Rick and I started out our way to France, where we were joining the Sliderparty, an annual event in the area of Perpignan not far from the French-Spanish border at the Mediterranean Sea.
The event like the name kind of stipulates it, is an event where riders are supposed to hit obstacles rather than throwing down any air tricks.

Our Contact man Ben picked the both of us up from Barcelona airport, which is obviously in Spain but still closest to the event with only two hours to drive!
Our first night we spent in a little cabin on the ‘Mar i Sol’ camping ground, inhabited by french speaking people. We couldn’t understand a word when we woke up the next morning with 5 frenchies around our kitchen based bed (some sort of pull-out-couch) having breakfast next to us – almost on top of us. Funniest thing was we didn’t know any of them, because we arrived late at night and have haven’t had the chance to meet anyone before.

Well anyways, right after that odd experience we met Sam Medisky, such a funny guy!
We had heaps of fun with him milling the plastic sheets with the router on the funbox the next day.
After that pretty much every one arrived one by one. We started the comp on tuesday with a supersession in 40 knots not hitting any obstacles, just air tricks.
The wind for the coming days was good enough to start the comp but not enough to finish it what was a bit of a shame.
But Ben his girlfriend and the guys from Kitaddict really made an extraordinary effort make every feel welcome satisfied. They organised sessions in the nearby cabelpark and 2.0 almost everyday and drove the guys (us) who didn’t have a car everywhere! Thank you guys so much again!
So we left the event not without a proper ranking but with a lot of footage and exposure in our bag and a great time with great bunch of people in our memory!
